The energy was undeniable at Women in Power 2025, where visionaries, pioneers, and change makers came together to honor the power of women in leadership. Our annual Women's History Month celebration hosted by Excellence in Bleu and Illinois House Speaker Emanuel "Chris" Welch. Held on March 14th at RPM Seafood in Chicago, this unforgettable party honored the trailblazing women who are shaping Illinois and redefining what leadership looks like.
This year's program celebrated the extraordinary presence of Ambassador Carol Moseley Braun, the first Black woman elected to the United States Senate, whose legacy set the tone for an afternoon rooted in inspiration and progress.
This year's honorees included Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton, Illinois Supreme Court Justice Joy Cunningham, Comptroller Susana A. Mendoza, State Representative Kelly Cassidy, State's Attorney Eileen O'Neill Burke, Alderwoman Pay Dowell, Chicago Sky Co-Owner Nadia Rawlinson, and America SCORES Executive Director Kimberly Townsend.
